Our Poplar model is is made from sustainably harvested Poplar (Tulip) wood. Poplar is beautiful hardwood full of striking color and grain with a buttery feel and tone. It takes a Poplar tree 5 years to reach maturity growing at a rate of 8 feet per year.
The Bones Bench is a modern day masterpiece that transports you back to an era when iconic furniture was created, the 1950s and 60s. The tapered legs are purposely strong presenting a focused stance while eliminating the need for spreaders. This clean aesthetic allows for the pattern of floating ribs to be pronounced and appreciated while light dances from the reflections off of clear plexiglass spacers between the ribs as you walk by. The added glimmer of this jewel is the exposed polished aluminum truss rods that dance through and connect the entire piece. The 3 materials, wood, plexiglass and aluminum create an orchestrated delight for the viewer as a piece of art that took 70 years to be realized.
